THE ULTIMATE FLEXIBILITY
The most revolutionary feature designed into Shunyata Research's ground cables are the innovative Ground Tail Adapters. Tail adapters are short cables that are designed to plug into the standard base cable using the STIS™️ v3 terminal system. They facilitate the ability to tap into the grounds of many common signal connectors. Tails eliminate the need to make custom cables that become obsolete when the entertainment system changes. Tails can be used on any of the CGC/SGC base cables from Gamma model through to the Omega-X model.

*Ground Tails are specially constructed so that ONLY the grounds are interconnected.
NO signals or signal wires are connected together. Under no circumstances should customers use any standard analog or digital interconnect cables to ground components to Altaira.

TERMINATIONS EVOLVED
Shunyata Research's STIS™️ v3 terminals are interchangeable with simple tools. No soldering or returns to the factory are necessary when a different type of connection is required. The terminals are made with a pure copper base metal and gold plated to protect the copper from corrosion. There is a banana terminal, enclosed 5mm ring spade, and two sizes of spades available in a small 4-6mm combo-spade and a larger 6-8mm combo spade.

All Shunyata ground cables are hand-terminated by craftsman that have perfected the art of cold soldering.

TECHNOLOGY

ArNi® is a type of wire created by Shunyata Research designed to be the finest quality wire available for audio purposes. It begins with the highest purity of copper available – OFE C10100 or Ohno (single crystal). Then it is formed in virtual hollow tubes eliminating skin effects and eddy current distortions. A premium fluorocarbon insulation minimizes dielectric absorption and re-radiation, greatly improving resolution and clarity. In addition, the wire undergoes our proprietary KPIP™ process.

Shunyata Research's ‌STIS™ v3 is the most evolved interchangeable terminal system in existence due to their performance and ease of use. The STIS v3  interchangeable banana and spade terminals are culled from solid tellurian copper for the ultimate in connectivity, then plated with pure gold to protect the copper for a lifetime of trouble free operation. In terms of performance and ease of use. STISv3 offers all the performance of fixed connectors yet delivers endless flexibility by allowing the end user to change connectors on the fly based on the system and connections being used.

Shunyata Research uses only the highest purity of copper available for the production of its wire products. ‌‌OFE Alloy 101 or ‌‌C10100 is the highest grade of copper with a minimum 99.99% purity and a conductivity rating of 101% IACS. OFE stands for oxygen-free electrolytic and supersedes the term OFHC (oxygen-free high conductivity). ‌‌C10100 is the only grade of copper that comes with a written certification of purity. Certified by ASTM F68 ‌‌C10100.

Ring terminals, spades, bolts and washers that are used to connect internal wiring, terminals and switches are good examples of parts that are considered “‌‌Trivial Parts” by some engineers. Shunyata Research actually designs and makes a wide variety of these small parts using pure copper instead of tinned brass. Such a level of attention to even the smallest details is what distinguishes every Shunyata Research product.
