> dCS MCD 16 -16 channels of high-performance Digital-to-Analogue converter

| About MCD 16
The dCS MCD 16 features 16 channels of high-performance Digital-to-Analogue conversion using eight individual Ring DAC™ circuits. The Ring DAC™ is the foundation of every dCS product, chosen for its exceptional distortion and noise performance.

Reduced harmonic distortion across the dynamic range means quiet passages of music or dialogue are rendered with complete integrity. It also means that louder sounds decay naturally: reverb tails, the dying resonance of a struck chord, the gradual fade of a room — all resolve cleanly, giving a greater sense of space and depth across the full dynamic range, not just at its quietest extremes.

A discrete Class A output stage per channel, with switchable 2V or 6V outputs, ensures the signal leaves the MCD 16 on its own terms, whatever amplifier or cable it meets.

| Highlights
8 discrete Ring DAC boards provide 16-channels of high resolution audio, with vanishingly low distortion, ultra-wide bandwidth and low noise

Instant channel-status visibility makes setup and troubleshooting faster with clear front-panel and web browser displays of channel lock and activity indication

Class A output stages on every channel drive any amplifiers with ease, from rack mounted multichannel amplifiers to difficult to drive monoblocks

Rack mount or shelf mount installation, engineered for long-term stability with managed cooling, status monitoring and firmware update support

Easy system integration with IP control support, all system settings accessible via a web browser, RS232 control and 12V trigger I/O

| Availability
  | The MCD 16 is anticipated to ship in Autumn 2026. Pricing and full technical specifications will be confirmed closer to that date. If you are attending High End Vienna and would like to experience the MCD 16 in the demonstration room, we would be glad to see you there.

| Debut at High End Vienna 2026
The MCD 16 will make its public debut at High End Vienna 2026, running from 4–7 June. It will form the heart of a joint immersive audio demonstration built in collaboration with Trinnov Audio and Perlisten Audio.

The demonstration has been conceived as a fully controlled listening environment where every element of the signal chain, from decoding and conversion to loudspeaker behaviour and spatial rendering, operates with precision and consistency. The result is a large-scale 15.8.8 immersive audio system engineered not simply to impress, but to reveal immersive music reproduction with exceptional stability, coherence, and realism.
